Syllabus - Piano
- Refer to General Rules.
- All selections to be OWN CHOICE from either the RCM 2022 Piano syllabus , or the Conservatory Canada 2018 Classical Piano syllabus.
- ALL PERFORMANCES MUST BE MEMORIZED, except for Studies.
- Piano ensembles (duets, trios, etc.) may use music in their performances. Photocopies are strictly prohibited.
- Original music scores must be provided for the adjudicator. All copyright laws must be observed. Photocopies or digital copies will not be accepted unless they show legal authorization from the publisher or copyright holder and/or proof of purchase. The CKMF reserves the right to disqualify any competitor presenting an unauthorized copy to the desk secretary.
- A solo competitor who has previously won a class may not enter the same class in the year following except in Silver Tray, Silver Tray Alumnae, and Level 10 classes. In any case, competitors must not perform the same selection with which they have previously won a first standing in any class at the CKMF.
- Studies can only be used in designated Study Classes.
Duet - One Piano - Four Hands
- Piano Duets are open to all competitors, graded and otherwise.
- Competitors should enter the level representing the most advanced performer in their ensemble.
- All selections to be OWN CHOICE.
*Note that only one registration is required for the group, not one per individual.

- Piano Trios are open to all competitors, graded and otherwise.
- Competitors should enter the level representing 2/3 of the membership of ensemble.
- All selections to be OWN CHOICE.
